Palma.—A 59-year-old woman has been arrested by the National Police in connection with a spate of robberies of properties belonging to family members and friends.

According to the police, the suspect is facing nine charges of theft.
The police explained that the woman would steal the house keys during visits to her friends or family members, make copies and then rob their houses at a later date. During a raid on the suspect's Palma home, the police found a hoard of jewelry and valuable items, most of which have since been identified and returned to their rightful owners.

The police said yesterday that the robberies were carried out between the end of 2009 and the end of last year.
Yesterday, she remained in the custody of the National Police robbery squad.
