Jaume Bonet, and member of the Retirees for Majorca association, has now been on hunger strike for two weeks as part of a campaign to protect the Catalan language and culture.

Bonet, and a host of others, are furious about the way in which the new Partido Popular government has down graded the importance of the Catalan language and culture and he intends to remain on hunger strike at the head office of the OCB Obra Cultural Balear, as long as possible.
