Palma.—Majorca is going to be rocking this summer with probably one of the best line ups of live music ever.
Yesterday it was confirmed that the legendary British band the Cult will be performing with Guns N' Roses at the Iberostar football stadium on July 22 with the first 3'000 of the 18'000 tickets going on sale tomorrow (Monday).

But, if that is not enough, Mallorca Rocks has an amazing line up of live acts this year plus a new WAR weekly DJ competition every Thursday and Friday night. Organisers of the Mallorca Rocks festivals have announced the line-up for its 2012 events which will include New Order playing their first ever gig on the island.

The 16 week-long series of open-air gigs at Mallorca Rocks are set to open with Ed Sheeran in June and close with Two Door Cinema Club in September. Acts confirmed to play in-between include Kasabian, Bloc Party, Tinie Tempah, Example, Kaiser Chiefs, Chase & Status, Professor Green, Maverick Sabre, Labrinth and DJ Fresh presents FRESH/LIVE.

Kasabian are the headliners for the Ibiza Rocks 7th birthday party and Mallorca Rocks 2nd birthday party.
Zane Lowe will return in 2012 as musical director of the Ibiza and Mallorca Rocks Group, he commented: “Its the best line up yet! It's great to have originals like Kasabian and the Kaisers back this year along with the biggest new artists in the world like Ed Sheeran and Tinie Tempah. And this year will be the first ever Ibiza Rocks show from Bloc Party. Best. Line up. Yet!” Shane Murray, Ibiza Rocks Group promoter, said: “This is the biggest year for the Ibiza and Mallorca Rocks brand yet and we're genuinely excited to be bringing 16 weeks of phenomenal live gigs to the islands. “New Order have had such an influence on the islands and we're making history by putting on their first ever live gig here. “Bloc Party will be another real moment of the summer - this show has been a long time coming! “It's such an incredibly exciting time in music right now and with acts like Ed Sheeran, Two Door Cinema Club, Kasabian and Chase & Status all on the bill, the 2012 Rocks line up really reflects that. “The energy at our shows is unique and with a line up as strong as this, it's going to go up a whole other level. See you on the islands!” Resident DJ's Doorly, Nicola Bear and Colin Peters will also return for 2012.
Summer 2012 will see 32 ‘Rocks' gigs across 16 consecutive weeks.
Mallorca Rocks every Tuesday from June 5–18 September and Ibiza Rocks every Wednesday from June 6-19 September.
