Neighbourhood associations and businesses on the Playa de Palma and Llucmajor met yesterday with Mayor Joan Jaume to discuss the possibility of a reduction in property tax for those who are prepared to fund reforms and improvements to their own business premises.

According to the President of the tax discount lobby group, Enrique Salva, the proposal has already been put forward to the Mayor of Palma, Mateo Isern (under whose jurisdiction the western part of the Playa de Palma falls) and he has accepted it. “It will encourage people to improve the image of the area,” said Salva.
