Palma Local Police are not going to start fining cyclists for riding on the pavements for another few weeks.
Despite the new bylaw having been passed by Palma City Council, the Local Police are still examining ways of how they are actually going to enforce the law.

That said, cyclists who eventually do get caught can expected to be slapped with fines ranging from 60 to 300 euros.
The new bylaw came into effect last Thursday but opposition parties claim that it is unfair because Palma does not have an adequate network of cycle lanes and in many areas, cyclists have no choice but to ride on the pavement.
