Palma City Council has given Real Mallorca football club just 10 more days to seal off all accesses to its now derelict Lluís Sitjar football stadium. Failure to stop members of the public from entering the premises during the time specified will mean that the Council itself will force closure.

The site has been classed by the Urban Safety department as a ruin and therefore a potential danger to the public. As owners of the stadium, Real Mallorca will also be obliged to remove any squatters and make periodic checks to ensure that no more homless people have settled in.
