Calvia Council has agreed at its most recent meeting to turn 100'000 square metres of land in Costa d'en Blanes, hitherto categorised as rural, into a site on which building will be permitted.
The plot is located alongside the Agora Portals school between the Poniente motorway and the Palma to Andratx road, in front of Marineland and the Sporting Tennis. Of the total area of this land which has panoramic views over the sea across to Puerto Portals, 70'101 square metres are publicly owned and the rest is private property.
Calvia's Territory Councillor, Maria Eugenia Frau said that there are plans for local community projects afoot.
