Sencelles.—Sencelles town council are taking strict measures to stop “rowdy and unruly behaviour” at the Biniali festival this year.
On Friday night, Guardia Civil and Local Police were carrying out spot check breath tests on festival goers arriving by car and people were banned from bringing bottles of drink into the fair ground.

The Traffic division of the Guardia Civil are carrying out similar controls at all entrances to the town throughout the festival and are preventing people parking haphazardly at the entrances to private homes.A spokesman for a Local Police unit said that “young people are sitting drinking in their cars with the music playing far too loud” and warned that all those who are illegally parked will be charged. “A dreadful din” The spokesman said that the local council was determined that the Biniali festival doesn't become “another excuse” for a mass street party which in previous years had lasted the whole night. Residents were unable to sleep because of the “dreadful din.” Those who had asked the revellers to “pipe down” had reportedly been met with streams of abuse.
