Palma.—Teenager Margarita Ferrer from Montuiri was tragically killed in a car crash along the road from Manacor to Calas de Mallorca yesterday.
Ferrer was travelling with a 20-year-old driver from Portocolom who was seriously injured in the crash and remained in hospital last night.
According to 112 emergency centre sources, the accident happened at 12.20pm on a bend near the Son Forteza road.
It as on the bend that, for reasons which have yet to be established, the vehicle in which the two were travelling veered off the road and flipped over a number of times before finally coming to rest on its roof.

The driver, although seriously injured, was able to crawl out of the wreckage but Ferrer died trapped inside the vehicle.
Ambulances and police were on the scene as quickly as possible and the driver was immediately rushed to Manacor hospital.
Meanwhile, paramedics confirmed that there was nothing that could have been done to save his passenger.
