Palma.—An officer from Palma's Local Police will be available 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year at the National Police Citizens' Complaints Office (ODAC), sources confirmed yesterday.

A course has begun for around 30 officers of the Local Police in Palma to gain knowledge of the National Police information technology system so that details of people arrested can be logged onto a common database. As a result of improved training, when the Local Police make an arrest, the detainee will be taken straight to the ODAC for details to be registered and a National Police officer will take charge of proceedings.

The collaboration between the two forces has been described as “historic.”
