Pollensa.—When ESRA North supported the idea of a Family Fun Day in aid of ASNIMO (The Balearic Association for Downes Syndrome), little did they realise just how much fun would be had at the event, which was held on September 9th.

Adults played children's games and children competed for gold silver and bronze medals, just like in the Olympics.
Over 130 people attended the event.
The Family Fun Day was organised by Brian Lowndes, and so it seemed most appropriate that Brian should present the cheque for €1700, the proceeds from the event.

Members of ESRA North went to the ASNIMO headquaters in Marratxi this week, and were welcomed to the centre by Carmen Crespo, the Administradora of ASNIMO.

They were then treated to a guided tour of the facilities, and were introduced to many of the people with Downes Syndrome who use the centre.
Suddenly the Family Fun Day took on a different meaning.
The centre is delightful establishment, where people gain meaningful skills and knowledge, enabling them to live a life which many of us take for granted, and to develop as valued individuals.

It was a pleasure to meet such dedicated members of staff, and such a delightful group of students.
Well done ESRA North, and well done ASNIMO!
