Palma.—Media Markt , the German chain of stores selling consumer electronics with numerous branches throughout Europe and Asia and Europe's largest retailer of consumer electronics, and the second largest in the world after American retailer Best Buy, will tonight open a new megastore at the Ocimax retail park in Palma.

The store, which has created 120 new jobs, will open in style at one minute to midnight tonight and remain open for 24 hours.
At yesterday's press presentation, Media Markt's regional Director, Xavier Rofes said; “with this new store we aim to serve one million clients next year and, thanks to our online store, we will be able to cater for clients across the Balearics, not just here in Majorca.” The manager of the new megastore, Florian Buch, stressed just how important it is for the chain to be opening here in Palma and praised his highly professional team.

Professionals “We have a team of great professionals and experts who will be working every day to make sure they provide our clients with the best possible service, attention and customer care. What is more we offer a vast range of products at the best possible price,” he said yesterday.

The 3'400 square metre megastore in Palma is the chain's 62nd outlet in Spain and Media Markt intends to open three more stores before the end of this year.

What is more, people shopping online will be able to make use of a special item collection service at the new store or, if in need of specialist advice, visit the stores themselves. Media Markt, which was founded in 1979, prides itself on offering a wide selection of top quality brands and a highly professional service.

Hence why the chain now has 62 stores in Spain and a total of 674 in 15 European countries as well as China.
