NEWSDESK FILM director Woody Allen last night thrilled a sell-out audience at Palma's Arena on the latest leg of his jazz tour of Europe. The legendary US director and actor brought his New Orleans Jazz band to Majorca as part of the tour, which included performances across Spain, Germany, France and Portugal.

The two-hour Palma concert featured several solos from Allen, who said he had a special fondness for Spain after filming box-office hit Vicky Cristina Barcelona, starring Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson, in the country during 2007.

Allen, who is famous for directing and starring in films like Annie Hall and Match Point, checked into Majorca's luxurious Son Vida hotel yesterday before the evening's one-off show. He spent time relaxing at the five star hotel before travelling into the city for the exclusive show.
