Less newcomers to Balearic schools this year

THE first term of the new academic year has meant a further 519 students joining the Balearic education system. Newcomers arriving after the beginning of September totalled 1'903 whilst 1'384 up and left the islands to either finish or continue their education elsewhere.

This extra 519 is nevertheless notably less than the balance of fresh starters at the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year where the final figure left after taking leavers into account stood at 780.
