BALEARIC households come fifth in a Spanish league table for the amount of time spent watching television.
A national survey by a media company reveals that the average Balearic home had the television set switched on for three hours and 50 minutes (230 minutes) each day during 2008.

This represents a rise of three minutes on the previous 12 months, said the report by Corporacion Multimedia.
The study revealed that 3.5 million Spaniards, around eight percent of the population, watched more than 10 hours of programmes each day.
The region with the most time on average watching television was Aragon, where households spent four hours 10 minutes (250 minutes) viewing. Homes in Valencia, Castillo y Leon, Cataluna and Andalucia all spent more time in front of their television sets than their Balearic counterparts.
