Palma de Majorca.Air Europa pilot José Manrubia died of cancer on Thursday in Palma aged 55.
Manrubia was the husband of the United States Consular Agent in the Balearics, Amy Cristiansen, They had one son.
Memorial
Born in Catalonia, Manrubia had lived for years on Majorca where he worked for the airline.
A memorial service was held yesterday evening at 8pm in the parish church of Santa Eulalia.
Colleagues paid tributes to a pilot who was extremely popular and had scores of friends in the airline industry.
