THIS Winter is forecast to be drier than usual, and much drier than the past Autumn, but we are in for a number of cold snaps, the first of which began to grip the region last night with temperatures as low as 5ºC by 7pm.

The forecast is for unsettled weather over the next couple of days with outbreaks of rain which may be heavy at times.
However, what we should be most concerned about is the sharp drop in temperature today.
The snow line will be around 600 metres today but, the eye of the cold snap is expected to hit the Balearics tomorrow with snow forecast as low as 100 metres and a dump of 4 centimetres forecast for the Tramuntana mountains where temperatures are also forecast to fall below freezing to -4ºC.
