PALMA
PRO-PALESTINE protests have been held in Palma every evening since the recent Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip was mounted and yesterday, Ramon Socias, the central government delegate to the Balearics, gave the green light for a mass protest against the Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip to take place in the Majorcan capital this Saturday.

For the past few evenings, Israeli flags have been set alight in Palma during demonstrations staged by members of Majorca's Islamic community and by sympathisers who oppose Israel's military offensive.

This Saturday evening's protest is being organised by the Al Maghreb Algerian Association, the Association of Moroccan Immigrants, the Balearic Muslim League, the Middle East/Palestine Association, the Es Sirat Foundation and is supported by a number of political parties including the United Left, The Greens, The PSM Majorcan Nationalist Party, the Students Union and the CCOO General Workers' Union.
