PALMA
LACK of space on the Peraires jetty in Palma port has meant that ferry passengers on regular routes are having to embark at several points across the port.

Due to the congestion of trailers and articulated lorries amongst other vehicles, and the fact that the jetty is also a reception area for cruise liners, foot passengers are having to take a shuttle bus from the ferry terminal to the area in the dock where the boat is moored.

Once passengers have checked in and been given their boarding passes, Acciona Trasmediterranea sailings depart from ferry terminal 2 and the Balearia company from terminal 3.

The increase in the volume of maritime traffic and the surge in freight handling has meant that operators are forced to use mooring points at some distance from the ferry terminal in order to prevent the Peraires jetty from becoming completely blocked.
