STAFF REPORTER THE Ministry for Employment in Madrid yesterday published a report which claims that one in five unemployed in the Balearics have a very high chance of finding a new job.

With the number of people out of work having hit a record high of nearly 73'000 last year and many more expected to lose their jobs between now and April, the jobless here in the Balearics have some of the best prospects in Spain.

According to the report, the chances of finding a new job in the Balearics is much higher than in many other regions.
In Ceuta, Aragon, Catalonia, Murcia and La Rioja, for example, the prospects of finding a new job are just one in ten. However, those are going to find it hardest to return to work and women are immigrants, according to the report.
