PALMA
PALMA'S Mayor, Socialist Aina Calvo, yesterday revealed a first batch of 32 projects which are to be presented to central government over the next few days as part of an application for funding for City Hall. A star plan in the capital is to upgrade roads which run parallel to the Avenidas, offering traffic alternative access to the city centre.

This first group of 32 schemes will take up 22.2 million euros of the total of 67.8 million allocated to Palma. They were approved yesterday at a special meeting of the Balearic government after Calvo gave a reminder that the final date for presentation to central government is a week on Saturday.
