PALMA
TORY MP Roger Gale yesterday pressed the UK government's Works and Pensions Department to hasten a decision on whether British citizens living in Spain are entitled to certain state benefits.

The Conservative MP for North Thanet urged the department to reveal if they had made a decision on whether certain disability benefits would be payable to UK citizens living in Spain and other European Union states.

He also tabled a question for the department to indicate how many of the 1'700 requests for the payment of disability living allowance, carer's allowance and attendance allowance made by former UK residents living abroad had been granted.
