Son Llatzer Hospital staff ended a week of protests yesterday.
The demonstrations have been sparked by fresh claims that funding is going to be cut even further. Apparently, the hospital budget is going to be cut by a further 18 million euros and staff fear that any further cuts are going to have a negative effect on medical services.

As the Bulletin reported this week, the waiting list at all Ib-Salut Balearic national health service hospitals has got significantly longer than a year ago and at Son Llatzer, on December 31, 2012, there were 3'366 patients on its waiting list, although yesterday, union bosses said that they suspect that the waiting lists are even longer in reality.
