The Moroccan Consul in the Balearics, Mohammed Harit, has held a series of meetings at the Chamber of Commerce in Palma with a number of captains of the Balearic tourist industry this week.

Next week a number of local business men and women will be travelling to Morocco as part of a commercial delegation headed by the Balearic President, Jose Ramon Bauza, and the Moroccan tourist industry which, along with Tunisia, is enjoying rapid growth, especially in the UK, is keen to learn from the Balearic tourist industry's experiences.

Many of Spain's, in particular Balearic, hotel chains are building new quality properties in both of the North African destinations and Morocco wants to develop cooperation in the field of tourism further as it looks to expand its industry. In turn the Balearics wants to increase trade between the two regions.
