AT 11am yesterday morning, a routine Guardia Civil patrol came across a group of six wet Algerians near the football pitch in Ses Salines.
Neither of the six were carrying any form of documentation and the Guardia Civil managed to ascertain that they had sailed across from Algeria, with two others, over the weekend. The small boat they used was later found near by as were the two other illegal immigrants. They were all taken to the Guardia Civil barracks in Santanyi first to be processed and last nightfall they were in the warmth and under the jurisdiction of the National Police in Palma. They apparently set sail from the port of Dellys, Algeria, on Saturday night and were hoping to find work here in Majorca.

However, now they are likely to be transferred to a holding centre in Barcelona and then eventually be deported home.
