Anewly-refurbished British warship will patrol the waters off Majorca during the next three months in an anti-terrorism operation.
HMS St Albans will support NATO allies protecting shipping routes in the Mediterranean.
The frigate has recently undergone a year-long 10 million pounds development updating its defence systems, including new sonar tracking and helicopter landing decks.

It will be a key vessel in Operation Active Endeavour off the coast of Majorca, Italy and Egypt.
HMS St Albans (F83) is a Type 23 frigate based in Portsmouth. She is the sixth ship to bear the name and is the 16th and final ship in the Duke class of frigates.

Her current commanding officer is Commander Adrian K M Pierce RN, who took command in early 2008.
