Palma.—The search for 17-year-old Leandro da Silva Fernandes, who suffers from autism and has been missing since 5pm on Thursday, grew increasingly complicated yesterday.

With over 150 people from the emergency and security services and the general public now involved in the search on land and from the air, the clock is ticking.

Mobile phone
Yesterday, the Guardia Civil managed to trace the mobile phone the teenager is carrying and it was clear he was on the move.
The security services managed to trace his movements to the Son Metimes area of Lluchmajor. And, some eyewitnesses came forward to report seeing a young man leaping over the wall into the Son Granada estate near the Renn circuit.

Jacket found
Following up the lead, the Guardia Civil did find the youngster's jacket in the area but there was no sign of Leandro himself as the search continued until night fall.

His mother joined the search yesterday, carrying a picture of her missing son, but at going to press last night, he was still missing and the search resumes today.
