A 33-year-old motorcyclist was killed yesterday when he collided with a vehicle outside the cemetery in Santa Maria.
According to the traffic police investigating the accident, the 33-year-old appears to have not noticed that the car in front had braked to turn and collided with the rear of the vehicle. He was also said to have been travelling at speed. Paramedics and police rushed to the scene but the motorcyclist was trapped under the rear of the vehicle and unconscious and, despite all their efforts, paramedics were unable to save the young man's life.
