Fire in car park in Palma

AN apartment building had to be evacuated in the early hours of yesterday morning due to three cars catching fire in its underground car park. Two neighbouring buildings were also evacuated. According to sources from the Fire Department the fire started a little before 2.30am, affecting three vehicles parked in the car park of a building situated on the corner of Calle Aragon and Calle Rafael Alcover. Smoke generated by the burning cars rose to the building under which the car park is situated, and spread to another two neighbouring buildings. All the buildings were evacuated as a precaution but the residents were allowed to return to their homes around 5.30am.
