Yesterday the Bulletin reported that the only sector of the British holiday industry which is struggling this year is the cruise market and yesterday, fresh data added further evidence.

Last year, Spain handled 5.38 percent less cruise passengers than in 2011 when 7.99 million cruise passengers visited the country.
The two ports hardest hits were Barcelona, where traffic dropped off by 12.12 percent and the Balearics which handled nearly 22 percent less cruise passengers. Last year, 1.26 million cruise passengers visited the islands, but in 2011, a record 1.6 million visitors cruised in.
