PALMA
PUERTO Pollensa is the only Majorca resort which has made its way on to a list of the top 10 favourite holiday destinations of British tourists in a survey by a UK travel company.

The poll by Thomson, part of the Tui Travel group, compiled thousands of customer reviews as a guide for people planning to head away on holiday this summer.

Long-term favourites like Palmanova, Cala D'Or and Alcudia failed to show in the top 10 which will come as a blow to Majorca tourism bosses who have earmarked a small fortune to promote the island as a holiday destination.

Results showed that Benidorm was the favourite package holiday resort. The Costa Blanca destination topped the list of holidaymakers' favourites having cleaned up its lager lout and chips-with-everything image built up over the last 20 years.
