THE problems at the new Son Espases Hospital appear to be never ending.
Now, after weeks of threats of industrial action by staff, yesterday, catering staff announced that they are going to go on strike from Monday of next week.

According to CC.OO Workers' Commission sources, the principal reasons for the industrial action, the first to have hit the hospital since it opened just before Christmas, are the lack of health and safety for the catering staff and that some of the tasks they are being asked to do could in fact amount to a breach their contract.

Yesterday, the 56 members of the catering staff, all of which previously worked at Son Dureta, met and voted in favour of the wave of half-an-hour strikes between 2.30pm and 3pm everyday for the moment.

Should hospital management ignore their demands, then industrial action will be stepped up.
