REGIONAL Employment Minister, Joana Barcelo, began a round of talks yesterday to try and find a solution to the household fittings company, Buades, located in Binissalem, which is threatened with closure and the loss of scores of jobs. She met firstly with company management and later with local Mayor Jeroni Salom and the Buades Works Committee. Although Barcelo was keen to find a solution and company management described the first round as “positive,” no conclusion was reached and a spokesman said that directors of Buades had yesterday handed over to the Minister all paperwork related to their aims to make redundancies.
