PALMA
THE Balearic Institute of Tourism, (Ibatur) has contributed 80'000 euros to the Majorcan Convention Bureau (MCB) for the development of business tourism.

The MCB will spend the money promoting Majorca at professional fairs, product presentations, workshops and on other related activities.
The “central element” of these promotional efforts, the Balearic Minister for Tourism, Francesc Buils, said yesterday, would be the new convention centre that is to be built in Palma.

Marcos Paredes, the head of the MCB, said that thanks to Ibatur's injection of cash, the bureau would be able to participate in important fairs and organise familiarisation trips for tour operators.
