AN elderly German tourist may have to lose one of her feet after it was crushed by a lorry at a zebra crossing in Alcudia yesterday.
82 -year-old Adelaide was out for stroll with her husband in the Port of Alcudia when the accident happened at around 10am.
Apparently, just as the couple stepped on to the zebra crossing at the roundabout with the Aligi Sassu statue, a lorry, which was travelling slowly as it approached the roundabout, did not apparently see the couple and ran over of the 82-year-old's feet. An ambulance was called and the German was given first aid treatment at the scene while the deeply upset lorry driver also needed assistance in being calmed down, as did Adelaide's husband. The 82-year-old was taken to Muro Hospital while the Local Police have opened an investigation.
