THE Manchester media is buzzing with previews of this weekend's four-day Balearic promotional festival which the local government and tourism authorities are throwing in the city centre. “Let's all go Balearic- it's all for” was one of yesterday's headlines which will please the Balearic Minister for Tourism; Miguel Nadal, who wants the four-day event which gets underway on May 1, to breathe some life into Balearic holiday sales in the UK.

The press previews are full of reports about the Minorca equestrian shows, the firework displays and Correfoc fire runs, the live music events - traditional and modern such as the latest dance floor sounds from Ibiza - every night in the giant marquees being erected in and around Albert Square and all the Balearic food and drink.
