Calls for an extra effort to be made to be nice to tourists....

THE Convergencia per les Illes party, which was the Majorcan Unionist Party, yesterday pleaded on all the institutions and organisations involved in tourism to make an extra effort to be nice to tourists this year. With a considerable number of those tourists coming this year having opted for the Balearics as alternative destination to the trouble hot spots in North Africa and the Middle East, the party is urging the industry to make the most of the situation and make sure that as many of those holiday makers coming to the Balearics this summer want to come back and not go back to the competing destinations once calm returns to locations like Egypt and Tunisia.

With both destinations already trying to fight back and recuperate their lost tourists with amazing discounts and offers in the United Kingdom and across Europe, Convergencia warned against complacency in the Balearic tourist industry.
