Palma.—Cleaners working for the CleceLumsa group, in charge of cleaning at Son Espases hospital, voted yesterday in favour of strike action on 18th, 19th, and 20th May.

The decision came after the cleaners' Works Committee failed to reach agreement with company management at a Balearic Islands Industrial Tribunal.
Works Committee President, Alicia Barcelo said that the company had failed in its commitment to contract more staff for cleaning at the hsopital.
The General Workers Union (UGT) said after an organised protest yesterday that another 70 cleaners were needed on top of the 174 who are already working at the hospital, not just to keep the hospital thoroughly clean but also to make sure that standards can be maintained without damaging workers' health.
