News Desk THE Spanish and the Balearic nautical industries are to be better promoted this year across Europe, thanks to a 268'000 euro campaign which was unveiled yesterday. This is the result of an agreement signed between the Spanish Tourism Institute (Turespaña), seven Spanish regions (including the Balearics) and the Spanish Marinas Association (AEEN). This ambitious plan hopes to raise the annual nautical revenue to 10 percent of the total revenue from tourism, instead of the usual 8 percent. The Balearic Islands will receive 22'000 euros to improve three marinas on the islands, so that they offer higher quality services, and attract more out-of-season sailing enthusiasts. The secretary general of the Tourism department, Raimon Martinez Fraile, said that this promotional campaign has enormous possibilites to increase sailing in Spain.
