THE supermarket chain Eroski Center Syp has started a campaign to sell 227 British products in the 68 supermarkets it has in the Balearics.
The aim of this is to offer a better service to British tourists who come to the islands, a company spokesperson said yesterday.
This campaign, which will last for two months, will be promoted by Eroski in conjunction with leading companies in the sector for the manufacture and importation of British products. With this aim in mind, Eroski has signed an agreement with FFB (Food From Britain) and the British Consulate. The presentation of the campaign took place in the Eroski supermarket in Bendinat. The Consul General, David Smith and the director general of the distribution company, Fernando Pereda Isla, were also present.
In total, during this campaign 227 different British products will be sold. The aim is to sell 967'000 units for a total of 1.9 million euros.
This extensive range, from 48 suppliers, will cover all the necessities of the national and foreign consumer.
The display of these products on the shelves of the supermarkets, will be clearly shown by a colourful poster display aimed at guiding the consumer towards these products. According to the company, “with this action, and others which have already been carried out, we are proposing to increase the sales of these products. “By doing so, we aim to satisfy the thousands of foreign visitors which we welcome every year to our islands”.
