Palma.—After having enjoyed massive acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic, a second series of Sky1's hit series Mad Dogs has been commissioned and, again, it will be filmed here in the Balearics with Palma Pictures.

The first series of the four million euro four-part British black comedy and psychological thriller was shot on the island last summer and is currently enjoying rave reviews and audience figures around the world.

Shot in association with the Majorcan production company Palma Pictures, Left Bank Pictures and Palma Pictures will be teaming up again this year to film series two which will use locations in Majorca and Ibiza.

Great relationship
Series became the eleventh most watched programme in Sky 1's history.
Stuart Murphy, Director of Programmes, Sky 1 HD, Sky 1, 2 and Pick TV and Director of Commissioning, Sky Entertainment commented: “Customers loved this show so it's great to commit to more. “At Sky we work hard to bring our viewers high quality original entertainment made by the very best production companies with fantastic talent so I'm delighted we can confirm Mad Dogs' return just a few weeks after the first series has finished its run. “This also marks a growing investment in British scripted content, to sit alongside our great American shows.” Mike Day, the Managing Director of Palma Pictures said yesterday it was tremedous news for his company, Left Bank Pictures and the island. “To get a returning series is always very difficult but Left Bank are hugely creative, the writing has such high pedigree and I guess our experience and professionalism at Palma Pictures have proven to be a very successful working relationship. It's very exciting,” he added. The second series is due to air early next year with series three “in the mixing bowl”.
