THE favourite past-times of young people in the Balearics aged between 17 and 20 are street drinking parties (80%) and using the Internet (62%), according to a social watchdog, Gadeso.
A report published yesterday said the third favourite activity of the groups interviewed was being with friends (56%), followed by listening to music (44%), watching television (40%) and going to the cinema (26%). Analysed by sex, the preferences were split equally between boys and girls. The poll showed that the young used the Internet to join social networks and chat on-line, to use instant messaging services and access personal e-mail. The same study suggested that the young in the Balearics preferred interaction with others of the same age as opposed to individual leisure, hence the street drinking and Internet.
