Memorial concert for Stephanie Sheppard

THERE will be a memorial concert for Stephanie Sheppard at the church in Deya at 9pm on Sunday.
The Studium chamber choir, of which she was a member, will sing, and other musicians are expected to participate.
Stephanie Sheppard, who died in Majorca in March, was co-founder of the Deya Music Festival, with Patrick Meadows.
A musician and singer, she had moved to the island in 1967.
She began playing flute duets with Patrick Meadows.
Other musicians wanted to join them and in 1978 they gave their first concert in Lluc Alcari.
That marked the start of the prestigious international music festival of Deya, which now features some of the leading players in the world.
Stephanie was also involved in several groups on the island, including Studium, which was founded in 1982; Syntagma Musicum and Tafelmusik, which she founded in 1980 with Fernando Villar and Patrick Meadows.
