Palma.—With the deadline looming last night a leading Bulletin correspondent was in pole position to win this weekend's ‘Best of British' nomination which is part of the annual ‘British Summer Party' at ‘Mood Beach' in Costa D'en Blanes. The event which has become a popular fixture in the summer calendar is always in June around the time of the birthday of Queen Elizabeth II takes place this Saturday.

This year sees the first collaboration between the well known restaurant and the Majorca Daily Bulletin and we are looking to enlist the help of our readers! Margaret Whittaker OBE and the team at ‘Mood' have announced the ‘Best of British' awards for 2013. “We are actively looking for nominations and we will be announcing the short list on the evening of the ‘British Summer Party',” she told the Bulletin, “What we really want to do is reward and acknowledge those amongst us on the island who really embody the best traits of the British. So we are asking for people to nominate their friend, work colleague, or family member with a letter or an email explaining why they should win the title. This is the first year that we have done this and next year we intend to expand it. The winner of the title will receive a prize which he or she can keep or donate to their chosen organisation or charity.” To nominate a friend, family member, work colleague, neighbour then email editorial@majorcadailybulletin.es The deadline for nominations is Friday May 31st at 9am.
