THE owner of the Hostal Paris, situated in the Calle Magallanes in the Port of Pollensa, Ian Walledge, has expressed his disgust at the fact that major works are being carried out in the high tourist season, making life very unpleasant for his clients. According to the hostal management, the annoyance caused by the work is so serious that since March some clients have cancelled their bookings, a total of 25 double rooms. “Many people who come here complain, and a total of 60 people have decided not to stay. The truth is that the work is having a bad effect on the business, as each person pays 25 euros a night for their room”, the management said yesterday. “This area is sold as a paradise and when the clients come they encouter the reverse, sounds of hammering, traffic jams in the street because of the lorries delivering cement”, they complained. The owner of the Hostal Paris complained yesterday about the “ineffectiveness” of the council and the local police who he has asked to put a stop to the work.
