A group of local police officers in Palma yesterday morning took part in a practice session for defending themselves against attacks from one or two knife wielding aggressors. Three instructors gave the classes in the Sant Ferran station. The officers carried out various exercises to disarm the aggressors and immobilise them.
There were moments in which the practice attacks appeared to be real and the officers protected themselves with defensive moves.
The knives used in the exercises were all blunt but had red dye on the point which left a mark when the blade reached its target and the officers were “stabbed”, covering them in “blood”.
