Some 50 Majorcan schoolchildren have had the chance to exchange experiences with pupils from a school in Chiclayo in Peru as part of the “Schoolfriends” programme - a project which promotes friendships and cultural exchange between schools in Latin America and Spain through use of the internet. The Balearics, participating in this scheme for the first time, successfully linked up pupils at the Son Caliu college in Calvia with their Peruvian counterparts. Further aims of the foundation are to promote understanding between school staff and the debate of different challenges that are faced in the classroom.
