PALMA airport is planning 14'013 more flights during the Winter season, which is an increase of 30.4 percent in comparison with the year before, according to a forecast from AENA (the Spanish Airports Authority). This forecast is from the Conference for the Coordination of Slots held in Vancouver (Canada), and makes Palma the third Spanish airport with the highest increase in flights this Winter, 2.4 percent above the national average. As for the number of seats, it is predicted that there will be 2'065'226 more seats on offer from Palma this Winter in comparison with the same period last year. This is above the growth of Valencia airport which will offer 1'433'232 more seats. Also, for the Winter season this year (which will start on October 29) there will be an increase in “low cost” flights.
