ST John's Day (Sunday) was chosen for the opening of the Ecological Products Market in Santa Maria del Cami.
This exclusive point of sale for ecological products formed part of the normal Sunday market in the town.
The objective of this initiative, which has the support of the Santa Maria council and the Council of Majorca, is to make it easier to sell ecological products and to make them more extensively available to consumers.

One way of promoting this type of ecological agriculture is to make sure the products go to the town markets and therefore to the consumers.
In addition to this, it is better for the products if they can be sold direct, without having to go through intermediaries.
This ecological market in Santa Maria, the first of its type on Majorca according to Council of Majorca sources, can be found every Sunday in the normal Santa Maria market, which is one of the most popular on the island.

The Ecological Products Market was organised by the Farmers Union and the Foravila Association.
