THE deputy mayor for Town Planning, Javier Rodrigo de Santos, has said that the future Parc de Sa Riera, known popularly as Falca Verde, will have a final cost of approximately 25 million euros, 10 million more than the original estimate. De Santos explained that this increase is due to the improvements made to the original project. He said that the cost of refurbishment of the 40'000 square metres where, until now, the Fira des Ram (April Fair) was held, will be 8.5 million euros. From 2007 the April Fair will be held in Son Fuster, after an agreement was reached this year between the fair organisers and Palma council. De Santos also announced that a new agreement will be signed on July 20 with the Spanish Ministry for the Environment for the financing of the Sa Riera park.
